ABSTRACT

Background: Pain is the main complaint felt by mothers during childbirth. Pain management can be done with non-pharma-cological techniques, one of which is using the Rebozo technique. Objective(s): This study aimed to determine the effectiveness of the rebozo technique for active phase 1 labour pain in primipa-rous women. Method(s): The study used a quasi-experimental design with a pretest and posttest control group. An accidental sampling technique divided a sample of 30 people into control and intervention groups. The intervention group received Rebozo therapy, a therapy using a traditional cloth wrapped around the pelvis and buttocks with the mother kneeling, then shaking it slowly. The pain was measured using the Visual Analogue Scale (VAS), ranging from 0-10. Bivariate test using Wilcoxon. Result(s): The majority of respondents were aged 21-29 years (56.7%), had high school education (83.3%) and were house-wives (50%). The majority of the control group showed moderate pain (53.3%), while the intervention group showed severe (60%). The reduction in pain in the intervention group was more significant than in the control group (2.27 > 0.73). Both the control group and the intervention group showed p < 0.001. Conclusion(s): The Rebozo technique effectively reduces labour pain in the active phase of the first stage in primiparous women. This technique is easy and inexpensive, so it can be an option for non-pharmacological therapy to treat labour pain.Copyright © 2023 Japan University of Health Sciences.

ABSTRACT

This study aimed to evaluate the effectiveness of a Persian Medicine-based dietary protocol (PM diet) in patients infected with COVID-19. A randomized clinical trial was performed from July 2020 to January 2021 in Tehran, Iran. Eighty patients admitted due to pulmonary dysfunction caused by COVID-19 were randomly allocated into two groups: the PM diet or the common hospital (CH) diet. Eight beds in 2 rooms were considered for each group. Patients were randomly hospitalized in these rooms and received these diets up to discharge or death. Oxygen saturation level and duration of hospitalization, the rate of mortality, duration of fever, and duration of cough were considered as the primary and secondary outcomes, respectively. Oxygen saturation and fever duration were not different between groups (P value= 0.08, 0.312, respectively). But the duration of hospitalization and the duration of cough in the PM diet group were significantly shorter than in the CH diet (P value= 0.002, 0.009, and HR=2.02, 1.86 respectively). The mortality rate was significantly lower in the PM diet group than in the CH diet group (Odds ratio: 0.12, P value=0.026). PM diet caused a lower mortality rate, shorter hospital stay, and better improvement in cough, but did not have a significant effect on O2 saturation and fever. ABSTRACT

The continuous increase in COVID-19 positive cases in the Philippines might further weaken the local healthcare system. As such, an efficient system must be implemented to further improve the immunization efforts of the country. In this paper, a contactless digital electronic device is proposed to assess the vaccine and booster brand compatibility. Using Logisim 2.7.1, the logic diagrams were designed and simulated with the help of truth tables and Boolean functions. Moreover, the finalized logic circuit design was converted into its equivalent complementary metal-oxide semiconductor (CMOS) and stick diagrams to help contextualize how the integrated circuits will be designed. Results have shown that the proposed device was able to accept three inputs of the top three COVID-19 vaccine brands (Sinovac, AstraZeneca, and Pfizer) and assess the compatibility of heterologous vaccinations. With the successful results of the circuit, it can be concluded that this low-power device can be used to manufacture a physical prototype for use in booster vaccination sites. © 2022 IEEE.

ABSTRACT

The effort to reach the 17 Sustainable Development Goals by the United Nations has incentivized the adoption of IT solutions in many fields. Many systems for sustainable economic development are now relying on a digital form making them more accessible and provides the access to new functionalities. A very interesting example of such systems are complementary currencies i.e. cooperative currency systems that support national economies to provide humanitarian aid and promote sustainable development. While there are many studies on the principles and case studies of successful complementary currencies, many aspects are still unexplored, especially regarding cooperative behavior. Cooperative behavior in these systems is a key aspect, as complementary currencies are often born out of cooperation among members that face a period of crisis or they usually have the objective of creating bonds of reciprocity and integrating social networks between people, which should lead to increased cooperation. However, there is a lack of studies on many aspects of cooperative behavior in complementary currencies, such as how such behavior changes over time, especially in times of a crisis like the COVID-19 pandemic. Moreover how cooperation behavior is affected by time and different geographical locations is still unclear. In this work, we analyze Sarafu, a complementary currency that went digital and now relies on blockchain technology. Sarafu is a successful case of a complementary currency that was used for humanitarian aid during the COVID-19 pandemic. Moreover, Sarafu is a perfect case study for the study of cooperative behavior, as it implements a special type of account, the group account, to support cooperation groups. This feature supports the study of group dynamics and behavior. What we find is that Sarafu users exhibit strong reliance on cooperation groups;we also observe that the interaction of users and cooperation groups is influenced by both time and geographical location. The study of group accounts and in general mechanisms that promote cooperation can be useful for other humanitarian or community development projects. Moreover, similar cooperation enhancers could have an important role in other social development projects, and in general, in any setting where there is a strong need to foster cooperation for reaching social good.

ABSTRACT

Eating disorders (EDs) are a non-heterogeneous group of illnesses with significant physical and mental comorbidity and mortality associated with maladaptive coping. With the exception of lisdexamfetamine (Vyvanse) for binge eating disorder, no medications have been effective for the core symptoms of ED. ED requires a multimodal approach. Complementary and integrative medicine (CIM) can be helpful as an adjunct. The most promising CIM interventions are traditional yoga, virtual reality, eye movement desensitization and reprocessing, Music Therapy, and biofeedback/neurofeedback.

ABSTRACT

OBJECTIVE: The purpose of this project was to explore barriers to the involvement of complementary and integrative health (CIH) providers in the public health response to COVID-19 and potential solutions for future involvement in public health crises. METHODS: An expert panel of 10 people, which included doctors of chiropractic, naturopathic doctors, public health practitioners, and researchers from the United States, was convened for a day-long online panel discussion. Facilitators asked panelists how CIH practitioners could contribute and be mobilized. We summarized themes and recommendations from the discussion. RESULTS: Despite their skills and resources, few CIH providers participated in public health efforts like testing and contact tracing during the COVID-19 pandemic. Panelists described that CIH professionals may not have participated in those efforts due to the CIH providers possibly not having sufficient public health training and limited contact with public health professionals, as well as policy and financial challenges during the pandemic. Panelists proposed solutions to these barriers, including more public health training, stronger formal relationships between CIH and public health organizations, and improved financial support for both CIH care and public health efforts. CONCLUSION: Through an expert panel discussion, we identified barriers that hindered the involvement of CIH providers in the public health response to the COVID-19 pandemic. During future pandemics in the United States, public health planners should recognize CIH providers as part of the existing labor resource, with clinical expertise and community-level connections that can be called upon in a crisis. During future events, CIH professional leaders should be more proactive in seeking out a supportive role and sharing their knowledge, skills, and expertise.

ABSTRACT

OBJECTIVE: Patients with gynecological cancer commonly use complementary and alternative medicine (CAM) methods to cope with the disease. However, despite the existence of treatment strategies, the effect of fear and anxiety caused by coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic on attitudes about CAM use is unclear. This study was carried out to investigate the effect of fear and anxiety experienced by patients with gynecological cancer during the COVID-19 pandemic on their attitudes towards the use of CAM. METHODS: This is a cross-sectional and descriptive study that included 177 women with gynecological cancer; participants were recruited from a social networking site for cancer patients in Turkey between June and December 2021. Data were collected using an online survey that included the Personal Information Form, the Fear of COVID-19 Scale, the Coronavirus Anxiety Scale, and the Attitude Towards Holistic Complementary and Alternative Medicine Scale. Descriptive statistics, t-test, Pearson's correlation test, and simple linear and multiple regression analyses were performed to analyze the data. RESULTS: During the pandemic, 55.4% of the participants reported using CAM methods, but only 22.6% were using CAM before the pandemic. The participants who used CAM during the pandemic also scored higher on the fear of COVID-19 and coronavirus anxiety scales (20.69 ± 5.37 and 13.09 ± 6.29, respectively) compared to the participants who did not use CAM (9.29 ± 2.72 and 6.35 ± 2.06, respectively). Fear of COVID-19 accounted for 52% of the CAM attitude score, while coronavirus anxiety accounted for 15% of the CAM attitude score. Fear of COVID-19 and coronavirus anxiety together accounted for 53% of CAM attitude. CONCLUSION: Gynecological cancer patients with high levels of COVID-19-related anxiety and fear during the pandemic used CAM more. Given that the psychological effects of the pandemic will continue in the coming years, CAM use should be evaluated as a coping strategy, especially due to the COVID-19-related anxiety and fear experienced by patients with gynecological cancer. While the rational and effective CAM methods should be supported, strategies should be developed to prevent misuse of CAM and its interference in prescribed medical treatments. ABSTRACT

Health care providers' recommendations can play an important role in individuals' vaccination decisions. Despite being one of the most popular complementary and alternative medicine (CAM), naturopathy is understudied in relation to vaccination decisions. We sought to address this gap through this study of vaccination perspectives of naturopathy practitioners in the province of Quebec, Canada. We conducted in-depth interviews with 30 naturopaths. Thematic analysis was conducted. Main themes were developed deductively (i.e., based on prior literature) and expanded through inductive coding of the data. Participants noted that they discuss vaccination in their practice, but only when clients asked questions or wanted advice. Naturopaths described refraining from explicitly recommending for or against vaccination. Instead, they focus on empowering their clients to make their own informed decision regarding vaccination. Most participants noted that they direct clients towards sources of information so that clients could decide for themselves, but some mentioned they discussed with clients what they considered to be risks associated with vaccination, as well as its benefits. These discussions were framed through a personalized and individual approach with clients.

ABSTRACT

PURPOSE: This study aims to examine the performance of early warning scoring systems regarding adverse events of unanticipated clinical deterioration in complementary and alternative medicine hospitals. METHODS: A medical record review of 500 patients from 5-year patient data in two traditional Korean medicine hospitals was conducted. Unanticipated clinical deterioration events included unexpected in-hospital mortality, cardiac arrest, and unplanned transfers to acute-care conventional medicine hospitals. Scores of the Modified Early Warning Score (MEWS), National Early Warning Score (NEWS), and National Early Warning Score 2 (NEWS2) were calculated. Their performance was evaluated by calculating areas under the receiver-operating characteristic curve for the event occurrence. Multiple logistic regression analyses were performed to determine the factors associated with event occurrence. RESULTS: The incidence of unanticipated clinical deterioration events was 1.1% (225/21101). The area under the curve of MEWS, NEWS, and NEWS2 was .68, .72, and .72 at 24 hours before the events, respectively. NEWS and NEWS2, with almost the same performance, were superior to MEWS (p = .009). After adjusting for other variables, patients at low-medium risk (OR = 3.28; 95% CI = 1.02-10.55) and those at medium and high risk (OR = 25.03; 95% CI = 2.78-225.46) on NEWS2 scores were more likely to experience unanticipated clinical deterioration than those at low risk. Other factors associated with the event occurrence included frailty risk scores, clinical worry scores, primary medical diagnosis, prescribed medicine administration, acupuncture treatment, and clinical department. CONCLUSIONS: The three early warning scores demonstrated moderate-to-fair performance for clinical deterioration events. NEWS2 can be used for early identification of patients at high risk of deterioration in complementary and alternative medicine hospitals. Additionally, patient, care, and system factors need to be considered to improve patient safety.

ABSTRACT

There has been significant research and therapeutic activity within the healthcare sector in response to the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19). In the United States, a complementary and alternative medicine (CAM) treatment regimen for improving patients' immune systems against COVID-19 prophylaxis includes excess zinc, vitamin C, and vitamin D supplementation administered over a seven-day period. Despite the fact that zinc and other mineral supplements are becoming increasingly popular in Western culture, clinical research on CAM remains limited. This case series examines three patients treated with a surplus of zinc tablets for COVID-19 prophylaxis who presented with moderate-to-severe hypoglycemia. Varying amounts of glucose were administered to these patients to offset their low blood sugar levels. Medical staff noted a positive Whipple's triad in two of the patients but observed no other abnormalities in the laboratory values. All three patients were instructed to cease zinc tablet intake upon discharge. Our findings raise awareness of the potential dangers associated with mineral supplements and serve as a warning for those seeking CAM treatment options.

ABSTRACT

This article describes experiences of improving complementary feeding practices using a systems approach with particular focus on health systems strengthening. Achievements included: the development of national guidelines for optimum complementary feeding for children 6-23 months of age, inclusion of a specific indicator for complementary feeding in the new National Food and Nutrition Strategy, updated training packages to improve health worker counselling skills and strengthened social behaviour change communication activities. A systems approach requires strong coordination between all partners across sectors to ensure communities benefit from the synergistic effects of complementary interventions, while system strengthening was noted to improve the resilience of the Ministry of Health and Population to withstand the shocks of the COVID-19 pandemic and the subsequent Ukraine crisis.

ABSTRACT

The A and B oligosaccharide antigens of the ABO blood group system are produced from the common precursor, H substance, by enzymatic reactions catalyzed by A and B glycosyltransferases (AT and BT) encoded by functional A and B alleles at the ABO genetic locus, respectively. In 1990, my research team cloned human A, B, and O allelic cDNAs. We then demonstrated this central dogma of ABO and opened a new era of molecular genetics. We identified four amino acid substitutions between AT and BT and inactivating mutations in the O alleles, clarifying the allelic basis of ABO. We became the first to achieve successful ABO genotyping, discriminating between AA and AO genotypes and between BB and BO, which was impossible using immunohematological/serological methods. We also identified mutations in several subgroup alleles and also in the cis-AB and B(A) alleles that specify the expression of the A and B antigens by single alleles. Later, other scientists interested in the ABO system characterized many additional ABO alleles. However, the situation has changed drastically in the last decade, due to rapid advances in next-generation sequencing (NGS) technology, which has allowed the sequencing of several thousand genes and even the entire genome in individual experiments. Genome sequencing has revealed not only the exome but also transcription/translation regulatory elements. RNA sequencing determines which genes and spliced transcripts are expressed. Because more than 500,000 human genomes have been sequenced and deposited in sequence databases, bioinformaticians can retrieve and analyze this data without generating it. Now, in this era of genomics, we can harness the vast sequence information to unravel the molecular mechanisms responsible for important biological phenomena associated with the ABO polymorphism. Two examples are presented in this review: the delineation of the ABO gene evolution in a variety of species and the association of single nucleotide variant (SNV) sites in the ABO gene with diseases and biological parameters through genome-wide association studies (GWAS).Copyright © Annals of Blood. ABSTRACT

Alternative medicine (AM) is one of the medical fields that use more natural and traditional therapies for disease diagnosis and treatment, in which traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) now has been recognized as one of the main approaches of AM. As a clinical and evidencedriven discipline with long histories, AM is also heavily relied on in the utilization of big healthcare and therapeutic data for improving the capability of diagnosis and treatment. In particular, artificial intelligence (AI) has been widely adopted in AM to deliver more practical and feasible intelligent solutions for clinical operations since 1970s. This chapter summarizes the main approaches, related typical applications, and future directions of AI in AM to give related researchers a brief useful reference. We find that although AM has not been widely used in clinical practice internationally, the AI studies showed abundant experiences and technique trials in expert system, machine learning, data mining, knowledge graph, and deep learning. In addition, various types of data, such as bibliographic literatures, electronic medical records, and images were used in the related AI tasks and studies. Furthermore, during this COVID-19 pandemic era, we have witnessed the clinical effectiveness of TCM for COVID-19 treatment, which mostly was detected by real-world data mining applications. This indicates the potential opportunity of the booming of AI research and applications in various aspects (e.g., effective clinical therapy discovery and network pharmacology of AM drugs) in AM fields. © Springer Nature Switzerland AG 2022.

ABSTRACT

This section presents diverse themes related to health promotion in online, hybrid, or face-to-face experiences. Mental health, care sensitive to indigenous cultures, integrative and complementary practices, suicide prevention, and interprofessional education are relevant issues. The authors provide a critical discussion related to teaching, research, and community relations. Thus, they emphasize the relevant role of universities, research institutions, and partnerships with local communities to ensure an educational process committed to developing skills that promote the health and well-being of individuals, specific groups, and the population. The authors consider the challenges, potentials, and limits of these actions in the context of the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic. The six chapters offer a variety of innovative, creative, and collaborative strategies to strengthen the incorporation of knowledge, values, attitudes, and practices associated with the fields, concepts, and principles of health promotion. ABSTRACT

Intro: SARS-CoV-2 is a single-strand enveloped RNA virus belonging to the family Coronaviridae. It was first recognized in late 2019 as causing COVID-19, and later declared a pandemic. The development of this assay aided in the detection of positive cases early in the pandemic which in turn facilitated the isolation of infected individuals to minimize the spread. Method(s): The SARS-CoV-2 RNA detection by real time RT-PCR is a molecular in vitro diagnostic test that aids in the detection and diagnosis of SARS-CoV-2 in nasopharyngeal and oropharyngeal specimens. This test is based on nucleic acid extraction and amplification technology and uses oligonucleotide primers and dual-labeled hydrolysis probes. RNA is isolated and purified from specimens using the Abbott m2000sp. This technology uses magnetic particles to capture and purify the RNA. The bound RNA is eluted and transferred to a 96 deep-well plate and is ready for amplification. The master mix is prepared manually and is added to a PCR plate together with the extracted RNA. The RNA is reverse transcribed to cDNA and subsequently amplified in the Abbott m2000rt. In this process, the probe anneals to a specific target sequence located between the forward and reverse primers. During the extension step of the PCR cycle, the 5' nuclease activity of Taq polymerase degrades the probe, causing the reporter dye molecules to be cleaved from their respective probes, increasing the fluorescence intensity. Fluorescence intensity is monitored at each PCR cycle on the Abbott m2000rt instrument. Finding(s): The clinical evaluation was performed by testing patient samples in a blinded fashion. The performance of SARS-CoV-2 Assay was established using 60 clinical specimens. The positive and negative percent agreements were analyzed by comparing the SARS-CoV-2 Assay results to Seegene's AllplexTM 2019-nCoV which showed 100% concordance. Conclusion(s): This assay demonstrated accuracy and reproducibility for the detection of SARS-CoV-2.Copyright © 2023

ABSTRACT

The treatment of microbial infections has proven challenging for humans in recent years. Synthetic medications, such as antimicrobial agents, are used for treating these infections. Antimicrobials derived from natural sources have gained popularity as an alternative to manufactured medications due to their lack of adverse effects. Plants, which play a significant role in this setting, have historically served as a reliable natural defence against several pathogens. In this study, studies on plants used against viral diseases are mentioned. Studies on viruses that cause disease have been compiled in the literature. According to the findings, it has been reported in the literature that many different plant species are effective against herpes simplex virus (HSV-1, HSV-2), human immunodeficiency virus (HIV), influenza virus (A, B) and parainfluenza, Poliovirus, Astrovirus, Parvovirus, Sindbis virus (SINV), Feline calicivirus (FCV), Rhinovirus, Echovirus, Rotavirus, Bovine alphaherpesvirus 1 (BoHV-1), Reovirus, Vaccinia virus (VACV), Cardiovirus A (Encephalomyocarditis virus;EMCV), Coxsackie virus, Semliki forest, Measles virus, Newcastle disease virus (NDV), Coronavirus, Adenovirus (ADV-3, ADV-5, ADV-8, ADV-11), Canine distemper virus (CDV), Lumpy skin disease virus (LSDV), Hepatitis A, B, C virus and Enterovirus. To combat viruses, plants can be considered a potentially invaluable natural resource.

ABSTRACT

The COVID-19 pandemic shut down forced introductory biology and chemistry laboratory courses online at DePauw University from March 2020-June 2021, leaving multiple classes of students without the opportunity to learn basic laboratory skills that are essential for the molecular biology laboratory. In an effort to provide students with both basic laboratory skills and advanced molecular biology skills, a new course-based undergraduate research experience (CURE) was developed for the 2022-23 academic year. In collaboration with Dr. Jeff Hansen in the Chemistry and Biochemistry department, novel compounds with potential anti-tumor properties were identified. The CURE in Molecular Biology was designed to have students use Saccharomyces cerevisiae as a model system to evaluate possible cellular pathways affected by the compound, including: cytoskeleton and cell migration, nucleotide biosynthesis, glucose metabolism, apoptosis, and cell cycle regulation. Students learned techniques DNA isolation and PCR, transformation, RNA isolation, cDNA synthesis, qPCR, and Western Blotting, while contributing to an active research project. ABSTRACT

To establish a PCR detection method for Trichomonas foetus, the primers were designed and synthesized according to the 18S rRNA gene sequence of T. foetus published by GenBank. The positive recombinant plasmid pUCm-T-TF18S of T. foetus was used as the template, and the genomic DNA of Giardia felis, Coccidia +e-lis, feline parvovirus and cDNA of feline coronavirus were used as the control for PCR detection to analyze the specificity of this method. The positive T. foetus recombinant plasmid was serial to 8 different concentrations with a gap of 10 folds, and PCR was performed to analyze the sensitivity of this method. The pUCm-T-TF18S plasmids stored at -20 " for 3, 6, 9 and 12 months were detected by PCR to analyze the stability of the method. Twenty cat fecal samples were tested using this established PCR assay and compared with those of microscopic examination. The results showed that the recombinant plasmid pUCm-T- TF18S gave specific bands after PCR amplification. The sequencing results showed that the length of the product sequence was 1 264 bp, and the BLAST sequence comparison analysis showed 99.53% sequence identity, which is consistent with that of T. foetus from cats (GenBank registration number M81842.1). The PCR method for detection of T. foetus had no cross-reactivities with C. felis, G. felis, feline coronavirus and feline parvovirus;the minimum detectable template concentration is 4.52 X 105 copies/xl;The target band of T. foetus DNA can still be detected after being stored in the refrigerator at -20 " for 12 months. This method detected 16 positive samples of T. foetus nucleic acid from 20 cat fecal samples, which is more accurate and sensitive than the results from traditional microscopy (13 samples). It is suggested that the PCR method for the detection of T. foetus is highly specific, sensitive and stable, and can be used for clinical detection and epidemiological investigation of T. foetus.Copyright © 2022, National Institute of Parasitic Diseases. ABSTRACT

Forests today constitute nearly one third of land cover worldwide, sequester nearly a third of carbon dioxide, and promote, maintain and restore health and wellbeing. Recent research has begun to unravel the therapeutic effects of forest environments. Reported benefits of forest therapy include mental health, cognitive function, the immune system, glycaemic control, pain relief, and hypertension. There is some evidence that biogenic volatile organic compounds emanating from trees themselves, so-called phytoncides, may also exert an antihypertensive effect. Decreases in objective measures of anxiety and depression have been attributed to forest environment exposure, with significantly lower scores on the profile and mood state questionnaire in the negative subscales of tension-anxiety, depression, anger-hostility, fatigue, and confusion. Limitations in the evidence base include small sample sizes, lack of research into long-term health effects, inconsistency around dose reproducibility and forest/woodland typology. The benefits to public health from investment in more detailed research could be a cost-effective strategy to mitigate the expensive burden of cardiovascular disease and mental illness on society, particularly in the wake of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. Isolating the elements of the forest-bathing experience responsible for its health benefits is difficult, although some evidence suggests that it may be a composite product of pleasant green scenery, soil, fresh air, sunlight, clean water, sounds of streams and waterfalls, bird song and the natural aromas of trees, plants, and flowers. The concept of green prescriptions is still in its infancy. With a greater awareness of the health benefits of forest immersion, the future medical consultation is likely to incorporate specific questions on this aspect of a patient's lifestyle. There may be a role for forest therapists who can counsel patients about the optimal intensity and duration of forest exposure for their individual health needs.

ABSTRACT

The coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic has impacted human lifestyles around the world, causing huge distress in terms of public health systems, emergency response capacity and economic development. The causative agent of COVID-19, severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2), is associated with respiratory involvement, cardiovascular-related diseases, and ultimately causes multiple organ failure and death in severely affected individuals. Thus, effective prevention or early treatment of COVID-19 is critical. An effective vaccine offers a way out of the pandemic for governments, the scientific community and people worldwide, but we still lack effective drug therapies, including treatments for the prevention and treatment of COVID-19. This had led to a high global demand for many complementary and alternative medicines (CAMs). Moreover, many healthcare providers are now requesting information about CAMs that prevent, relieve, or treat the symptoms of COVID-19 and even alleviate vaccine-related side effects. Experts and scholars must therefore become familiar with the use of CAMs in COVID-19, current research directions and effectiveness of CAMs for COVID-19. This narrative review updates the current status and research worldwide on the use of CAMs for COVID-19. The review provides reliable evidence on theoretical viewpoints and therapeutic efficacies of CAM combinations, and evidence in support of the therapeutic strategy of Taiwan Chingguan Erhau (NRICM102) against moderate-to-severe novel coronavirus infectious disease in Taiwan.
